Tan Bee Wah

Tan Bee Wah

Principal Counsellor

Bee Wah is passionate about helping people who experienced trauma, as well as those facing obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and drug addiction. After 18 years of teaching both intellectually disabled and mainstream students, Bee Wah felt called to help troubled children and conflicted adults. Since then, she has been a counsellor at Haven Counselling Centre, counselling a wide repertoire of clientele of different cultural backgrounds from countries like Singapore, China, India, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling degree and is a clinical counsellor (CMSAC) registered with the Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC). She is also a certified T-JTA practitioner, trained in Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and fluent in English, Mandarin and Hokkien. Bee Wah is a mother of three, and enjoys her family life. Apart from counselling, she winds down by tending to her collection of plants, walks her adopted dog with her husband, and enjoys baking.
Crystal Yip

Crystal Yip

Counsellor

Crystal’s passion lies in the desire to journey with individuals and couples who seek healing and growth in their relationships. Currently, she counsels adults who have relationship issues (including marital problems), trauma, anger management, self-esteem, those who suffered from difficult childhood environments, and has also been counselling clients grieving the loss of a significant person. ​ She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling degree and is a clinical counsellor (CMSAC) registered with the Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC), and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Newcastle (Australia). In addition, she has completed Level 1 training of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Level 1 of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy technique, and is the facilitator in the marriage enrichment programme using the well-researched Journey To Intimacy Inc. material. During her free time, Crystal enjoys being with nature, reading, and playing board games with her husband and sons.
Xie Li

Xie Li

Counsellor

Xie Li is passionate about helping people with anxiety/stress, grief/trauma, social anxiety, parenting confusion, poor relationships and addictions. Xie Li immigrated to Singapore from Northeast China and has worked as a Chinese language teacher for 25 years, opened a language centre and volunteered in various organisations, visiting families, counselling seniors, couples and youth. She has helped many people in difficult situations and her rich experiences over the years have strengthened Xie Li's resolve to pursue a career in professional counselling to better help those in need. Xie Li has a Master of Arts in Counselling with some specialist knowledge. She gained valuable practical counselling experience during her studies under the guidance of two senior counsellors. She is fluent in Mandarin and understands English at a basic level. She hopes to put her knowledge and experience into practice to serve her clients and help more people realise their own growth and improvement. She is a patient listener, a good communicator, and a kind and meticulous person who can develop personalised tutoring plans according to her clients' needs and provide efficient and professional services.
Yoon Mei

Yoon Mei is a clinical counsellor and psychodynamic therapist who partners with individuals on their journey of self-discovery and empowerment. She sees herself as someone who helps others build resilience by addressing their personal struggles and imparting skills for managing their emotional and mental well-being. Yoon Mei holds a Master’s in Counselling and is a provisional clinical member of the Singapore Counselling Association. As a practicing psychodynamic therapist, she integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy to provide a holistic and individually-tailored experience for her clients. With over 30 years of corporate working experience and more than 20 years of volunteer experience in welfare organisations, Yoon Mei brings a unique perspective to her practice. Having encountered many individuals who struggle with the responsibilities and realities of work, family, and personal life, Yoon Mei now dedicates her time to support others who are experiencing the pressures of performance, the drive to excel, the emotional toll of stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, and being lost or unheard. Beyond her professional work, Yoon Mei enjoys indulging in arts and crafts, and spending time with family and friends. Ever so occasionally, she would take time out to soak in the beauty of the world around her, with her favourite cup of coffee.
David Leong

David Leong

Premarital Facilitator

David is a Children & Families Educator who has helped many couples prepare for their marriage using the scientifically-researched and time-tested Prepare-Enrich (PE) Inc. instrument since 1995. As a certified PE Inc. Seminar Director since 2005, he has also trained many clergy and non-clergy marriage counsellors to use the PE Inc. instrument. David is a registered instructor with the Ministry of Education, Singapore and currently also serves as a freelance Resource Speaker with Filos Community Services Ltd where he conducts government-approved talks and workshops for parents and primary to post-secondary students. David obtained his Master of Christian Studies degree from Regent College, Vancouver, Canada in 1993 with Marriage and Families as areas of concentration. He has taught marriage and family related courses at TCA College (1995-2006; 2010-2011) and Covenant Vision School of Ministry (2010-2017). David has also helped many parents who attended the evidence-based Parents Plus Early Years; Parents Plus Children Programme developed by the Mater Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. David and his wife, Cynthia have been married since December 1987. They have three children who are young adults now. Cynthia has a Master of Arts in Counselling degree and is a clinical counsellor. They have counselled many couples in their marriage preparation.
Magdelene

Magdelene embodies a deep passion for helping people who face challenges in their mental health, personality issues and relationship difficulties. She thinks of counselling as a calling and she treasures every opportunity to walk alongside individuals in their paths fraught with uncertainties and struggles. Magdelene holds a Master of Arts degree in counselling, and has worked with clients who struggle with issues which include trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, grief and loss, as well as interpersonal and emotional difficulties. In her practice, Magdelene adopts a Person-Centered approach and uses evidence-based modalities like Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to help her clients work through their pain, increase self-worth, build emotional resilience and feel more empowered to take charge of their lives. Happily married with 2 grown-up daughters, Magdelene enjoys time after work with her Golden Doodle. In her leisure time, she also enjoys reading, pottery and baking.
Jimmy Boh

Jimmy is a counsellor with over two decades of pastoral experience, having journeyed alongside individuals facing challenges such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, sexuality and marital issues. A narrative therapist at heart, Jimmy approaches his clients uniquely, often blending various therapeutic methods to best meet their needs. Jimmy’s approach is both compassionate and grounded, informed by a Master of Arts in Counselling degree. In addition, he holds a Master of Christian Studies from Regent College, Canada, and has served as a training director and mentor-coach in a non-profit setting for over ten years, fostering growth and resilience. He is also a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator. Jimmy has been married for over thirty years and has three adult children, all of whom have enriched his journey and understanding of relationships and family life. He enjoys finding renewal in the outdoors and draws wisdom from reading books that explore life’s mysteries and paradoxes.
Tsui Ling

Tsui Ling is an experienced psychotherapist who has worked extensively with trauma and mental health challenges in people from all walks of life. With life experiences that include overseas living in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, and other countries, she is skilled in connecting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. In addition to addressing her clients' immediate struggles and therapy goals, she is a firm believer in the relational aspect of healing – as she endeavours to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing space for self-growth for all her clients. She is a Level 2 Internal Family System (IFS)-informed therapist, accredited play therapist and a certified sandplay therapist, integrating EMDR, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, and Jungian Sandplay into her practice. She also works with couples using IFS-based couples/dyad therapy (Intimacy From Inside Out) to help partners navigate challenges and strengthen their relationships. In her me-time, Tsui Ling enjoys pottering around her house and immersing herself in nature. Exercising is akin to her breathing and she approaches life often with lots of curiosity. Please note: For those interested in engaging an IFS Session with Tsui Ling, the session will be an hour and half. The fee rate will be charged accordingly.
Nicole Tham

Nicole Tham

Art Therapist

Nicole has over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in the social sector, as well as in the special education and mainstream education settings. She has also worked with individuals with chronic illnesses and acquired disabilities. Nicole feels strongly that every individual has a voice that deserves to be heard, regardless of how small, and in spite of any obstacles that may hinder that. She is thus drawn to art therapy, as a gentle but effective approach that facilitates self-expression, improves emotional well-being and personal growth through the creative process. Nicole adopts a person-centred approach in her sessions, and endeavours to create a safe space for creative self-expression, where individuals can feel seen, heard and valued. Nicole has a Masters in Art Therapy from LASALLE College of the Arts. She also has a Diploma in School Counselling and a post-graduate certificate in Therapeutic Play. Prior to pursuing art therapy, Nicole worked in marketing communications and has a Business degree from Nanyang Technological University. As a mother of three fast-growing littles, Nicole cherishes family time and seeing the world through their eyes. Family time is often enjoyed outdoors in nature. When there are pockets of time, Nicole loves browsing books in the quiet peace of our local libraries and dabbling in different crafts.
Faith

Faith

Faith is committed to journeying with her clients with compassion and authenticity. As a passionate educator of 13 years, her experiences with youths and young people eventually led her towards a newfound purpose of helping individuals heal, grow in self and relational awareness, and point them towards a meaningful and fulfilling life. Believing that every young person deserves someone who helps them feel seen, safe and soothed, Faith has journeyed with clients facing issues like depression, anxiety, suicidality/self-harm, addiction, sexuality, self-esteem and relational intimacy. Drawing on her insights as a counsellor and educator, she also guides others (including parents and youth workers) on how to establish meaningful connections with young people. Faith holds a Master of Arts in Counselling degree, is a provisional clinical member of the Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC), and is trained to Level 1 of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) method. Her approach to therapy is integrative and catered to each client, informed by techniques such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Polyvagal Theory and Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Neuroscience and Mindfulness as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy. She also holds a postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE) and a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Arts and Social Sciences from the National University of Singapore (NUS). In her down time, Faith immerses in beauty and inspiration through stories, travel, self-care rituals and spending time with her husband, friends and family.
Janet

Janet is a counsellor with a Master of Arts in Counselling who specialises in supporting young adults through life transitions, trauma recovery, and interpersonal challenges. Prior to her counselling career, she spent over 20 years as a critical care nurse and chronic disease management specialist. With over a decade of experience working with youth and young adults in church settings, Janet has grown in her perspectives of the unique challenges they face in establishing their sense of identity and purpose in today's complex world. In particular, she is passionate about helping clients navigate relationships and discover their authentic selves. Janet’s therapeutic approach is informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, person-centred therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She is also certified as a facilitator for the Prepare and Enrich tool for marriage preparation. In her free time, Janet enjoys reading and watching K-dramas. She lives with her husband and has an adult daughter.
Veon Lim

Veon Lim

Art Therapist

After graduating with a Bachelor of Finance in the UK, Veon found herself in the marketplace, eventually carving a niche implementing Enterprise Risk Management in Multinational Corporations and Temasek-linked companies, supporting the Board on Corporate Governance. More than 15 years on, she called time on her corporate career to pursue her Master of Arts (Art Therapy) at LASALLE College of the Arts, twinning a lifelong love for art making with her growing passion for healing and spiritual care of the soul. Her art therapy research papers on altering life narrative through altered books and restoring attachment through clay were presented at the annual conferences of American Art Therapy Association (AATA) and British Association of Art Therapists respectively while her paper on the legacy gift of reconciliation in palliative care was accepted by the 50th AATA conference. Veon has since worked with clients in community psychiatric rehabilitation, hospice patients facing imminent end-of-life crises alongside their families as well as children/spouses of the incarcerated and other private clients. The overarching theme of reconciliation, be it with self or others or the Creator is central to her practice. She also finds it fulfilling running wellness/self-care programmes for caregivers, children, youth and working adults focusing on mental wellness. She enjoys facilitating onsite and outdoor group art experiential sessions for corporations, NGOs and the Christian community too.
